Hungry4Hebrew Biblical Hebrew - Intermediate Level (Beth) Intensive Reading Course

Hungry4Hebrew's Level Bet course is the natural continuation of the Level Aleph Intensive. We will continue to review foundational topics in Biblical Hebrew grammar, vocabulary, morphology, and reading skills, but Level Bet is where students really put those tools to work in extended study of real biblical texts.

This course is built around guided reading and analysis of Scripture. The course follows the needs and interests of the students. Participants will be invited to suggest passages they would like to study, and those suggestions will be used to shape the syllabus and direction of the class. We will read through those passages, examining grammar, syntax, vocabulary, textual features, literary structure, and historical and cultural context as they arise naturally in the text.

As we encounter material in our readings, we will review and deepen our understanding of topics covered in Level Aleph, including verbal systems, weak roots, construct chains, pronominal suffixes, syntax, discourse features, and more advanced grammatical phenomena. The goal is not merely to learn additional rules, but to become increasingly comfortable reading and interpreting Biblical Hebrew directly from the text.

Because the content is driven by the passages we study, no two iterations of Level Bet will be exactly the same. Student questions and interests will play a major role in determining the topics covered.

This course is ideal for students who have completed Level Aleph or who possess an equivalent foundation in Biblical Hebrew and are ready to move beyond introductory study into the lifelong practice of reading, discussing, and understanding the Hebrew Scriptures in their original language.

The course consists of 30 sessions that are 90 minutes each, and the recordings will be available for personal use. There will be a group chat for the class through the phone/desktop app called "Telegram." The two availabilities for this level Beth course are:

• The Monday class begins July 27th, 2026 at 18:00 / 6:00pm Eastern Standard time
