Hungry4Hebrew is an education website dedicated to teaching Biblical Hebrew and providing insights into Bible context and culture. Our mission is to help individuals develop a deeper understanding of the Bible through engaging video lessons and live classes.
Jared Abram Seltzer is the Hebrew Teacher. Hebrew is Jared's passion, and he wants to help the world study the language of the Bible. He learned Biblical and Modern Hebrew in Israel at the Hebrew University in Jerusalem. He also earned his master's degree in the Bible and Ancient Near Eastern history and culture. He has worked and volunteered for several Israeli companies and organizations teaching about Biblical interpretation and nascent Christianity from its original Jewish context.

Jared has great passion in teaching Biblical Hebrew language. He is able to abstract the most essence from the loose study material and bring the understanding into shape for any level of students, always adding extra learning point on top of school curriculum. Jared’s classes are the highlight of my week, even though they are at 10pm on a Sunday night!! His classes have something new for everyone whether you’re a complete beginner struggling with the alef-beit; or revising the basics; or an advanced student. The class circles round actual texts from the OT. After we take turns in reading the text, Jared elicits grammar points of different levels, related to the text, so that all the students are challenged. He asks students to give a reasoned answer, and then he explains the point in full, and he provides further examples to consolidate the point. He welcomes all questions; no question is considered stupid! Jared is so encouraging that you believe that you will be able to read Biblical Hebrew, in the near future.
The game-changer in my Hebrew learning journey has been the teaching (style and content) of Prof. Abram-Seltzer (Hungry4Hebrew). He makes certain that our foundations in Biblical Hebrew are strong, encouraging us to ask our many questions and always answering us with kindness. Jared never pressures us to read, but provides lots of opportunities to do so when we’re ready. I always feel so encouraged after any one of his sessions. His love of the Biblical Hebrew language is contagious and Jared’s classes for me have been fun! Loving reading my Bible in Hebrew!
